When I saw the name Robin Bielman I knew right off that this was going to be a sweet, funny, romantic read and I was not disappointed. The characters are likeable and I do like it when the Brainy girl gets the jock. Curl up in a comfy spot with a warm drink and escape with Keeping Mr. Right Now

I just had the pleasure of following along as something magical happened in the small beach community of White Strand Cove. The Strand is one of those places that makes you feel at home. It's my perfect image of a small beachfront community. A place where the community doesn't just look out for one another. They look out for everyone! The secondary characters had the same lasting impression on me as Sophie and Zane. Honor, Bryce, Danny, and the rest of the Strand's community are fabulous complements to the story. I loved reading along as the Surf Fanatic Film Festival took place. Robin Bielman's descriptions of the sights and sounds from the event created the perfect picture in my mind. I was fascinated by Sophie, the brainiac, and Zane, the local surf god. On the surface, it seemed as though they could not be more different. What I happily discovered was that these two people were both looking to make their way in the world. Years of being told who or what they could/should be has left them both with doubts. It was such fun watching them encourage each other to reach for their dreams. As is typical of Robin's work, Sophie and Zane developed a genuine camaraderie. Yes, there were plenty of sparks for this couple! What impressed me more was how much they enjoyed just spending quiet times together. I loved their quiet walks and time spent on the beach. This book is EVERYTHING a summer romance should be! Even better is the realization that their summer romance is a romance for all seasons!
I loved everything about this book and can't wait for the next book in the series!

Favorite lines:
"Butterflies in her head. Flutters in her stomach. Tingles in her toes. His soft voice didn't leave any part of her untouched."

"Sophie Birch proved to be a direct link to his funny bone. Brains, beauty, sense of humor-she intrigued every part of him."

"He'd wished for endless summers his whole life. What he wished for now was endless Sophie."

Professional surfer Zane Hollander is happy with his life, but he needs some image rehab if he's going to get the job as the spokesman for a prestigious environmental charity. Enter Sophie Birch. The genius event planner gave up her career in academia to pursue her dream of fundraising for charity, and planning events for Zane's team at the film festival could prove to her bosses that she's ready for more responsibility.

While author Bielman gives her characters common insecurities, the fact that they're the exact opposite of each other adds a twist to the story. Smart, nerdy Sophie is insecure about her looks, while handsome jock Zane worries that he's not smart enough for the charity. The book follows a lot of the standard romance novel tropes, but the unique characters and snappy writing make this book worth a read despite that.

I have mixed feeling about this book. To begin with I was hesitant because it was about surfing which is just not up my alley. The main character Zane was more then a surfer though and when he talked about surfing you could hear the passion in it, even if I didn’t understand some of what he said.
TRIGGER WARNING: This book does touch on emotional abuse. We never actually read the scenes but Zane is pulled into his own head and the words thrown at him resurface several times. It wasn’t a huge trigger but there is a little encompassing emotional abuse. In fact if I did not know this about the character or understand the toll that type of abuse can put on a persons self worth I probably would have given this fewer stars and here’s why. Without getting into details he pushes her away (don’t they usually) but it’s the way he did it that made me upset. I did however emphasize with him and understand why he did it and it’s all tied to that emotional abuse. It’s not an excuse and I’m not excusing his behavior. I did however look at it differently because of his past. That being said it got fewer stars for me because of the ending. It felt rushed and not nearly as authentic as the rest of the book. I will read more from the author though as I did enjoy the writing style and characters.

I loved it! Once again Bielman didn't disappoint me. The book is simply amazing. It's cute, funny, and quite romantic.

Sophie is smart, beautiful, and very clumsy. She is an event planner, and this is her first time at a beach. She is planning to work as well as have a good time. But what she didn't plan is to find a guy. But Zane would make a perfect 'Mr. Right Now'. And why shouldn't she have a little fun. So she agrees to be his girlfriend for the time being. She knows that he is not a settling kind of guy. There is a hoard of girls after him and she isn't anything special. In short there are no delusions. Just a little fun.

Zane is famous. He has groupies falling her around and he isn't beyond taking advantage of his fame, and his charm. But now he needs to clean up his act. That's how he starts taking Sophie out on dates. But soon he realises that he genuinely likes her. She is an amazing person. She is kind and funny. And now his heart is involved. But he knows she won't stay for long. Soon her job will be done and she will return to her home Town. He has to protect himself from a heartbreak, and protect her from a guy like him....

I think all romance lovers will enjoy this book. I did.

Same old.. Same old..
Can't they think of anything new.
And her brain words weren't sexual. They just irritated the hell out of me!
I skipped most of this..

Keeping Mr. Right Now – A Kisses in the Sand Novel by Robin Bielman is a 2014 Entangled: Bliss publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is perfect for the last days of summer. A beach romance with lots of funny moments and lots of serious drama, and of course sizzling romance.

Sophie is super smart and brainy, and just a little out place on the sands at White Strands Cove. But, she has a job to do as an event coordinator and she really goes above and beyond when she agrees to help Zane Hollander smooth out his bad boy reputation.

Even though his father has passed away, his hateful words still echo in Zane's mind. To prove he is more than just a bronzed surfer he applies for a humanitarian position. The problem is he needs to tone back the ladies man reputation he has developed so he will be taken seriously. When Sophie has a nasty experience in the water which makes her look like klutz, Zane's PR people this is perfect for the role as Zane's new “girlfriend” because she is obviously not the blonde beach girl/ groupie type Zane normally keeps company with. With all the cards out of the table Sophie agrees to play along.

Zane and Sophie hang out together without the real pressure of dating, which has Zane letting down his guard. She confides in Sophie about some really scary issues in his family, and Zane opens Sophie's eyes and has her experiencing a whole new level of confidence and tying out new things.

But, their friendship is beginning to take on a more serious tone and Zane is frightened to his very core. Sophie is so smart and has so much to offer, doesn't she deserve better than a professional surfer?

I love stories where a super smart and shy person blossoms beyond their isolated world and although they have to take a chance no matter what they will be a better person for having stepped out of their comfort zone. I also love it when a guy who has his pick of women learns all about the power of love and once they get a taste of true love nothing else will do.

This is a fun read and will appeal to contemporary romances lovers young and old.

A cute read that's perfect for summer! Slightly nerdy smart girl gets the hot jock who spends most of his time shirtless and in board shorts--who doesn't want to read that? ;)

Skipping a few years in school and living with overprotective parents has made Sophie more than a little socially awkward. She's recently decided to forgo research work in favor of event planning, and the surfer-themed film festival offers her a chance to justify her career change.

Zane loves the ocean and has no complaints about his surfer lifestyle, but now he wants to use his influence to do good for others. He's particularly interested in a nonprofit organization called the Surf Help Exchange--and it looks like they might want him for their ambassador. First, though, he has to clean up his image.

Enter Sophie--a "safe" relationship for Zane. Spend some time with her, stay away from the tabloids. What does Sophie get out of the deal? A "Mr. Right Now"--a guy to have temporary fun with while she's in town for the festival. A win-win, right?

Riiiight.

Their relationship was cute to watch, as it slowly grew from friendship to something more. His surfer-god-with-a-heart-of-gold persona was a nice compliment to her sweet ready-to-move-on-from-unrequited-crushes nerdy girl-ness.

The morning after their first kiss, when they run into each other on the way to the festival:
“Zane!”

“Yeah?” he said, cool as a cucumber and tucking his chin a little tighter, eyes still in the downward dog.

“Are you trying to look down my blouse?”

“Yeah.”

She rushed a hand to cover the teensy bit of cleavage left exposed by the button-down silk shirt.

“Too late,” he teased, eyes lazily lifting to meet hers. “Are your panties black too?”

Holy snap peas. Was this how things would be now that they’d kissed? Was he hinting at wanting more? Maybe he’d slept on it and decided to forget the gentlemanly thing and take things further.

“Yes.” She stuck her neck out, just a little bit, and inhaled his delicious scent.

“Did you just sniff me?”

“You smell good.”

He lowered his head and, with his lips grazing that delicate spot under her earlobe, said, “You do, too, and I want to breathe in every part of you.”

Unthinking, she fisted the front of his shirt to keep herself upright. Quivers tobogganed down her body, surging and spreading to all her girl parts. “I don’t know what to say to that,” she murmured.

“You don’t have to say anything.”

See? Swoon.

For all his big-shot surfer ways, Zane was absolutely adorable with his younger fans. He always made time to make them feel special. It made him twice as hot, if that's even possible.

Honor and Bryce (Zane's friend/manager) are clearly being set up for a future book in the series, and it should be a good one--lovers with a past...

Keeping Mr. Right Now is a perfect beach read book--whether you're at the beach or just wish you were :)

(I have to admit, I didn't see the "Red Hot" label before the Bliss logo when I started reading, so I was a little surprised when the steamy scenes went further than I expected. Not complaining, though!)

Sophie needs to let her hair down a little. Instead of looking for Mr. Right, she needs some time with Mr. Right Now. Living in Montana, she takes an assignment/vacation to sunny California to oversee the Surf Fanatic Film Festival. This is where she meets Zane Hollander, sexy, gorgeous surf pro. Zane needs to clean up his reputation if he wants to be the ambassador to Surf Help Exchange, a non-profit organization promoting humanitarian, clean water, and natural healing efforts around the world. Will Sophie agree to accompany Zane to a few public appearances in exchange for getting more business for her company?

Great story with fabulous characters! Bryce, Danny, and Honor were fantastic secondary characters. Sophie is full of surprises. Zane had no clue what he would awaken inside little Ms. Wholesome Montana. I loved her character growth throughout the story. The issues Zane had were a little more difficult to navigate.

Robin Bielman writes fantastic contemporary romance and I'm always wearing a smile at the end of her books!
