Beautifully-written, just didn't personally resonate with me in a significant way. Not a knock on Forché at all. I've enjoyed the other work I've read of hers very much. I can be very fickle and picky about poetry, though, so this one didn't end up fully connecting.

I was a big fan of The Country Between us, and comparatively, this fell flat. It wasn’t bad, I just didn’t love it. It was very well constructed and beautifully written, and if someone asked me if they should read it, I’d probably say yes.
