I must admit I was a bit hestiant about this book as it gave "celebrity first nations author" easy money vibes.  The text is Ok and the illustrations are fine.  I'm sure this will be given to lots of new mums and bubs this year.  But I do think there are better new baby books out there.

“My dream for you begins earlier than dawn,
in the magical days before you are born.
I dream of our future with you in my arms,
waking to birdsong, sharing sunlit yarns.”

I love the rhyming poetry in this one. The words are so lyrical and the illustrations are dreamy. While presented from the point of view of Ash Barty, I’m sure the message in this one is universal to all mothers (especially new mums) in the world.

Now we just need a dad version 😊.
