I was surprised at how good it is. The beginning had me questioning the female lead's logic, and I almost stopped reading but thank the heavens for Wes! It's full of action; there are a few graphic parts and reasonable characters...well except for one with a name that starts with an "A" (¬_¬). I'm a bit hesitant to read the 2nd book now.. the 3rd book won't be coming out until next year! The wait will be excruciating.......(⋟﹏⋞)

At the beginning I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to like this or not since it started out really slowly but after the first 100 pages it got really good! Excellent story and all the truths uncovered it was perfect!

I saw a lot of good reviews for this book, and now that I have finished it, I wonder if I read the same thing the other reviewers read.
The world building was very shallow. The characters were boring. Even the main antagonist.
There were some big questions that got the "We just can't!" treatment without actually explaining why.
I could tell the author had some interesting ideas, but did not take the time to actually build a good foundation.
I give it 2.75 stars just because it's hard to write a book.

What a fantastic start to a new series. I wish the next one was out now. The author did a great job building tension and chemistry. I suspected the first twist but was still surprised when it was revealed. Loved it!
