Fun and quick read. Not challenging but good for an undemanding, relaxing read.

I was given this free review copy audiobook by the author, courtesy of Audiobook Boom, at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Cendrine (Cen) West is in over her head after a dead body is found at her family inn at Westwick Corners. She is in the middle of helping with the grand opening of the inn and preparing for her upcoming wedding. She doesn't have time to deal with a dead body and a huge mystery!
She was walking down the aisle for the rehearsal of her rehearsal when her and her aunt fell over the dead body of an important guest. Her Aunt Pearl is the leading suspect in the murder and Cen must find a way to prove her innocence. Hopefully with the help of the sexy new Sheriff, Tyler Gates, Cen can get the info she needs to clear her aunt of this mess!
This was a great book! I enjoyed the characters and the story line. The narrator, Petrea Burchard was perfect! She had a unique voice for each of the characters and I enjoyed her performance.

I was expecting a bit more magic. Cen might be a witch but she didn’t perform any witch craft. I liked the mystery and murder solving. But I was expecting spells and more witchy things.

Aunt Pearl… a seventy year old lady acting as a ten year old and very immature. She really annoyed me.

Overall I was bit disappointed with this book. It’s a very easy read but it didn’t trigger me to read the second book nor the rest of the series.

 Witch You Well
Westwick Witches, Book 1

I Picked Up This Book Because: I’m on the hunt for a new cozy mystery series.

Media Type: Audiobook
Source: Hoopla
Dates Read: 7/11/22 - 7/14/22
Stars: 3
Narrator(s): Petrea Burchard

The Characters:

Cendrine “Cen” West:
Sheriff Tyler Gates:
A terrible fiancé, an annoying aunt, a caring mother

The Story:

Writing: While I cannot complain about the writing style I will complain about several of the characters. I have no idea why Cen even wanted to marry her fiancé. He was a twat from page one. And the Aunt made me want to quit reading. I’m sure she is meant to be seen as eccentric but it just read as annoying to me.
Forward Motion: Good.
Overall Interest: Fair. As I said before I was ready to quit several times but the mystery kept me present.
Length of Reading Time: Good, just what I wanted.
Re-read-ability: Definitely not. I’m not even sure I’ll continue the series.
