Considering how short the book is, it's still a little bit too long. Some scenes were repetitive. For example, she passed out for days. During those days, she only woke up to eat and shit. The book referred to this multiple times in different ways. Too many ways that we don't need. We get it, she's still passed out.
SpoilerThe khui made her a healer, so she passed out/was recovering at like three different times. And at each time, the extra descriptions were unnecessary.

I was also getting annoyed with Veronica. Her clumsiness was unreal, she almost twisted her ankle every time she even moved. The logistics of it don't make sense. Well, I guess she's a
Spoilerhealer so she can just "unknowingly" heal herself
but like, eh.

Idk if I'm getting burnt out after 16 books or if I truly didn't like Ashtar and Veronica.

Really enjoyed a lot of the plot elements, like the non-sa-khui hero and the healer heroine. Liked both characters (him making friends was adorable). But I wasn't overly invested in the romance.
