CAMOUFLAGE MOM is a touching story about the importance of maintaining connections with loved ones regardless of distance. As an immigrant, being far away from my family has been challenging, and like Sarah, the main character in the story, I found ways to feel connected. Hovorka does an excellent job of conveying intense emotions in a child-friendly manner. This book is for anyone who has ever felt disconnected and is searching for that special bond that links us. A must-read book!

This is another heartfelt and amazing story by this wonderful author. There is so much emotion felt on every page. I had to keep reading to see if and how the child adjusted to her parent's absence. So many layers to this story that both boys and girls will be drawn to it.

So grateful to have gotten an early copy of this important picture book about staying connected while a parent is away, serving in the military. I think kids will especially relate to young Sarah who experiences ALL the emotions -- from pride to sadness -- while her mom is serving. Fantastic back matter provides tips for families coping with celebration.
