A good introduction to the life, times, and legacy of Milton S Hershey. It is a sympathetic telling of Hershey and his life, but it does not shy away from the numerous conflicts and challenges, personal and professional, that were part of his life and work.

Sounds like a fun town. I like that this author tried to present all sides of Milton Hershey in a rather unbiased way. I learned many new things.

very high level historiography. Didn't really go into the business itself, which I was interested in, but really stayed focused on just the man. In that way, it mostly talked about the business as a series of facts which didn't really explain much about how he went from from failing in multiple businesses to suddenly being a success. That transition just suddenly seemed to happen over the course of a few pages.

Very good book! If you have ever wondered about who started the Hershey chocolate company and what his life was like, this is a great true, not candy coated telling.

A very interesting read about a man who not only built an empire out of a chocolate business, but who built an entire town that directly benefited his factory workers and the school for orphan boys, which was established as a philanthropic endeavor. A good and engaging read.

A worthwhile read to learn more about the life and business dealings of M.S. Hershey. Nothing especially riveting in the narrative.

The part that I found most interesting was once Hershey started building the factory and town in Hershey.
