For: dragon lovers and Halloween fans; readers looking for a silly book.

Possible red flags: confusion; characters in peril; feeling left out/bullied.

I will defend children’s lit up and down to people that say that it is dumb and, well, juvenile, but every other Dav Pilkey book I have read has been INSUFFERABLE. Dog Man is so bad y’all. Captain Underpants?

Not my favorite Dragon book--the second chapter had me and the kids laughing out loud, but the first and last chapters were just meh.

I read the Spanish version of this. It is totally adorable. I love the drawings and best of all, at the back of the book it shows you how to draw the dragons.

He's adventurous but a scaredy cat, and he's kind. Dragon is just lovely.

The Dragon beginning chapter books are so fun and endearing. It’s time for Halloween. Dragon could not find large pumpkins so he makes his jack-O-lantern out of 6. No one thinks it will be scary. And they say the same thing about his costume. Until a pumpkin gets involved. A great book for the youngest readers in your life.
