I feel bad for rating this so low, but I just really didn't enjoy it. If it would not have been my book club pick, I would have DNFed it. I didn't like any of the characters, and I was annoyed with everyone for most of the book. Even though the last 20% got a little better, it wasn't enough for me to up my rating. I just set my expectations too high for this one. I don't want to elaborate, because I know I'll rant. So, if you want to know more detailed thoughts, you can message me.

For thtis usually "not a rom-com" reader, I thoroughly enjoyed Henry and Edith's story. Becca really ties it all together in a very perfect ending. Mistaken identities, past hurts, &second chances.

These words from the Amazon description are perfect: Reminiscent of the beloved classic You’ve Got Mail comes a delightful new romantic comedy about mistaken identities, second chances, and finding love in unexpected places.

A hilarious, mostly lighthearted romance that was a nice and relaxing read. The premise begins with Edith moving in above Henry, and they write notes back and forth… but they both incorrectly assume the other is elderly, because they haven’t actually met yet. Sometimes things got so out of hand and ridiculous that you’d have to suspend your belief in reality for a little while, but it was so much fun.

And always a great bonus, it was a clean romance!

Didn’t like the set up of the fake dating.
Once he decides not to tell her who he is, and also lie about it, then it’s weird. I would still be reading if he just told her who he was without all the weird sneaking around. Also Steve is simultaneously very flat and way over the top.

This was cute! Basically a Hallmark movie — lighthearted, romantic, but with a ridiculously cheesy and nonsensical plot. Would be a great palette cleanser read.
