What an absolute joy ride of chaos and carnage. If you've read any of the Galaxy edge books and come back to this one its awesome to see the building blocks being laid. Your also left guessing who will live, we know only two are walking out of this galaxy spanning war and everyone else is coming along for the ride.

As an avid fan of the GE universe, I found this book and the subsequent novels to be rather disappointing. I didn’t feel enamored by the plot or any of the characters. I came very close to not even finishing it. I consider this book decent at best, and I do not recommend it to anyone unless they really want to learn about the Savage Wars.

For what was one of the most referenced periods in Galaxy's Edge, this was a miss on all sides:
- The first half of the book is completely discardable and confusing.
- All characters were dull and 2 dimensional. Nothing memorable here.
- Stephen Lang had the same exact voice for every character. I could never tell who was talking.
- Stephen Lang basically read the entire book in a monotone.
I won't be continuing the Savage Wars series.
