Wodehouse's universe is always comforting to me and this set of related short stories did the trick during a distracted reading period. Having said that, I think my favorites are the longer novels- the short stories don't have that ridiculous farcical build where absurd choice piles upon absurd choice and (while you know that Jeeves will find a way to figure it out) he doesn't do so quite so quickly and finally. He lets Bertie string it out and assists him in doing so until finally reeling him back in.

An excellent collection of linked short stories, beautifully crafted and very funny. Jeeves at his best. This is probably where I would recommend someone to start with Wodehouse

Again, same stories as the 1989 omnibus, so I just skimmed it.

I read this book with time I would normally have spent on reading news online. This felt much better.

So funny, but it's the way they, particularly Bertie Wooster, speak that amuses, not any plottiness - the storylines remain much the same from story to story, but it's the vocabulary and contractions of vocabulary that is hilarious, literally laugh out loud jocularity.
