I found the flashbacks a little slow and random but it made up for it with the last few pages with Zoe.

2 stars for the actual story + 1 star for the feels

I'm not generally a picky person when it comes to books so I'm starting to feel weird rating all these short Serenity stories fairly poorly. If you haven't seen the movie Serenity, please just stop reading now because it'll spoil the shit out of everything.

SPOILERS!

Okay, so despite the fact that the story is passable at best it still made me cry at the end because:

Damn you Joss Whedon!

So yeah, Float Out is three old friends of Wash remembering good times with him as they christen their ship the "Jetwash." The stories are mildly amusing but only because I imagined it in my head rather than looking at the damned ugly artwork. I hate to say it because I love Patton Oswalt but this just wasn't Wash for me. It was too stiff, tried too hard.
Spoiler But damn do I love the idea of Zoe having his baby girl.
If you loved Wash as much as I did, it might be worth a read but otherwise it's very skippable.

A nice little reminiscence about Wash. The framing story could have been a little clearer. The art could have been a little bit better. It could have been just a little clearer who those old buddies of Wash were. It was still sweet and nice.

I'm not a big comic fan but I actually liked this! I decided to read some Serenity comic because I love Firefly/Serenity and I wanted to give it a try. This one is a bit emotional and interested, we see more about Wash's past and and memories from his past friends. Very interested and small reading.

A Wash one shot! I don't know what more you could ask for here, I loved it.

So this is a Wash spotlight issue... that takes places after the movie. Yeah...

This one just made me sad, then kind of happy, but still mostly sad. :(

I think with all the flying that this would have worked better in a video form rather than a comic, but don't get me started about how much I miss the TV show. And Wash. I miss Wash. Glad to see a tribute to him.
