This was a freebie from my local comic shop, and at first I wasn't really expecting to read it any time soon, but I looked closer at the cover and thought I'd give it a whirl.

First, I've been reading mostly IDW comics, with some DC and Marvel as well, and I have to say, I'm more impressed with the Vault presentation. The cover was thicker, the pages seemed denser, and there was even a blurb about what the story was about on the back. I know that increases in materials has forced the big companies to go with self covers and blah blah blah, but I was impressed with an indie title nonetheless.

So, the art in this book is pretty good. It's not really my cup of tea necessarily, but I liked how certain things were showcased. The panels being mostly red or green in color to show a couple in a car at a traffic light was neat, and there was a full spread of a circuit board type setting that was really neat.

The story is reminiscent of The Matrix, but with some superpowers somewhat thrown in, and the stakes are more personal, as the main character is trying to rescue her lover. I wasn't expecting much, but I have to say I definitely liked it and I plan on reading the next issue. If giving this one out as a freebie was a marketing move by Vault to increase readership, kudos to them, because for me at least, it worked.
