This book was overall quite emotional and romantic, albeit sad at times. In just a handful of pages we get a glimpse of almost sixty years spent together, going through the ups and downs that life throws at you.
Overall a quick and easy read, even though towards the end

I had a hard time getting over all the philosophical analysis about loving and being loved that took focus from the story.

It's my second book read in French, and Lettre à D. was an excellent chorice of a book. It's a short and engaging read. The story of author's love and marriage will definitely stay with me for some time.

Je ne comprends pas du tout pourquoi tout le monde considère ce livre comme la lettre d'amour utlime. Le gars parle que de lui c'est insupportable. Genre il raconte des anecdotes hyper précises sur la publication de ses bouquins ou comment il a eu telle idée de génie mais on sait strictement rien de sa femme, c'est juste un prétexte pour raconter sa vie ??
