This is a eye opener and a genuine story.

Can finding someone who is a complete stranger also be the one person that completes you?

This is the question I continually asked myself while reading this book. When I met Beth I was immediately drawn to her and how she looked at things and she is completely innocent. Then in walks David and everything almost makes sense in it all.

But is it going to last?

I have never read anything by this author and I am really glad I got to read this one and meet the characters within.

I can't wait to read more in this series that's for sure and find out exactly what happens.

Elizabeth "Beth" Johnson is headed to England to spend the summer of 1979, in London so her father can take some courses and nothing upsets her more than having to spend time away from her boyfriend, Rick McGuire. Although things are extremely up and down with him, she is looking forward to spending their senior year together.

Yet when she gets to England she meets the charming David Somers and is immediately taken in by his presence. When she hears some unsettling news from back home she decides to go ahead and get to know David better. By as summer draws to a close she needs to decide if a long-distance love can truly survive jealousy and time apart.

Then when she gets home she discovers a new side of Rick and maybe his changes will show Beth how much he has changed for her in his effort to work things out with her.

I really enjoyed this book and I think part of it was because it took place in 1979, when the only way to communicate with someone was through the mail or by phone which made long-distant relationships so much harder. Beth was a little lost at the beginning of the book as she really wanted her relationship with Rick to last and she definitely put up with a lot.

Beth's relationship with David definitely moved fast but in high school love can seem so real and strong. I liked how she was willing to give love a chance and really held on to her beliefs about certain things through her relationship with both Rick and David. I also liked how she looked at the future and really thought about her options.

Looking forward to the next book!!

What a beautiful story ! It was nice to read a rockstar book that was different. It was nice to have a young love story with a budding musician one that is seeking to get signed . I absolutely cant wait to see what book 2 will reveal in Beth and Davids lives .

This was a decent teenage romance. Beth seemed like a nice enough girl, and was destined to repeat her grandparents' relationship.

The one thing that bugged me was that I think Beth should've been cut and dry with Rick when she wanted to end things. She was kind of wavering at first.

I liked Jenny's character. She seemed to be like a cousin everyone has. David's mom was quite nice as well.

I was kind of shocked at the end. I'm surprised Beth's parents went along as young as she was, but then again the book takes place in 1979.

I would like to read the second book, so I can continue on Beth and David's journey.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I reviewed this book for Kylie's Fiction Addiction.

This teenage romance takes place in 1979, set in California and England. The two things I liked about this book (besides the romance) was the time and place.
It's fun to go back in time when people had no cell phones and had to rely on letters and telephone calls via landlines. I think it's what made the angst of the teenage romance more realistic.
I also loved seeing California and England. Sometime a story keeps us in one place so it was cool to travel back and forth with the heroine.
I also liked the teenage romance. The ending is a cliffhanger as this is a continuation series. And Anne Carol stops at just the right spot that leaves you wanting to go to the next book.

*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. The review is my own, honest opinion.
