I wasn't sure exactly what I was getting into when I started this book but gods am I happy I did. This is easily one of the best, most interesting and exciting books I've read this year. I look forward to reading more of this series so much.

The plot was enrapturing, I greatly enjoyed the mystery that flowed within it. How the two POV's played out, all within the same city. The Dragons, sigh, the dragons, the dragon magics, so gooooood.
The characters were great too, Kullen was a great POV from the start and whilst Nattisse had to grow on me I began to enjoy her POV's near the end as we found out more and more about her character. The other characters all had their own interests and dislikes and that was incredibly fascinating to get to know.

The world, whilst we do not know much of it, what we did get to see was incredibly intriguing and enjoyable.

Also Kramer continues to be excellent.

Too tired to write ore but easily a

Audio entertained like an action film. Lots of gore and fight scenes. Would happily listen to more of the series.

Action right out of the starting gate and doesn't let up throughout the book. You have assassins, betrayers, and thugs, oh my. Kullen is The Black Talon with his soul-forged bonded dragon Umbris he is the Emperor's personal assassin. Natisse is a member of The Crimson Fang a rebel group set to bring down power-hungry nobles. People have been disappearing off of the streets in the poor districts so the Crimson Fang is trying to find proof of the slave pits they feel must exist. If you like dragons and swordplay with throwing knives on the side you will enjoy this action-packed book.

Got this on audible because I saw Michael Kramer and Kate Reading narrated and I missed them. Decent book, okay start to a series but it lacks in originality and isn't all that memorable

"Black Talon" catapults readers into a dark and enthralling realm where the Black Talon, Kullen, and the fiery rebel, Natisse of the Crimson Fang, collide amidst a dance of political machinations. The narrative is packed with tension as the duo's perspectives unveil a world teetering on the brink of upheaval. The prose is a tapestry of vivid descriptions, breathing life into a land where dragons, assassins, and political intrigue intertwine seamlessly.

The characters are a symphony of complexity, from Kullen's lonely soul-forged connection with his dragon companion to Natisse's rebellious found-family. To top it all off, the inclusion of character art adds a welcome visual component to this novel. As alliances shift and mysteries unravel, the entwining of primary and secondary characters adds layers to the narrative, crafting a story of motives and alliances that keep readers on the edge of their seats.
