This was such a fun middle grade mystery. The setting was extremely vivid and I felt like I was really in this world. The mystery within this book kept me on the edge of my seat. The family dynamics in this story were really sweet. I love how the siblings all took care of each other from the first page to the very last. I can't wait to get to the second book so I can figure out what is going on!

Each character feels real and relatable, which makes the story engaging. You can connect with them and care about what happens to them.
The mystery in the book is intriguing but I could tell from nearly the start what's going on, so the story feels too prolonged at times. Some parts drag on a bit too long, which makes it feel slower than it needs to be. While the mystery is nice, there isn’t enough action. It would have been more exciting if there were more intense or thrilling moments to keep the pace up.

Cute but I was kinda bored…a lot of repetition on the same things and there’s a lull for about a hundred pages halfway through.

This novel follows three siblings, Finn, Emma & Chess who live with their mother. One day, they learn about three kids who are kidnapped in Arizona, with the same name as them & the same birthdates. Shortly after, their mother goes missing also.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for a good middle grade book, unfortunately, this one just fell flat.

I understand that this is written for children who might need a little more details & repetition to understand the entirety of this story but it was just to slooooow. I truly felt interested about halfway through the book but that didn’t last long. There were too many details & too many parts that could have been left out. I probably won’t be continuing this series.

I had high hopes for this cute middle grade, and while the story was interesting, it just wasn’t for me.

The story was just too slow-going, and the characters are cardboard and difficult to differentiate between. I'd lose track of who was talking in each chapter because the children all sounded roughly the same.

In the end, the mystery just isn't enough for me to continue, so I'm moving on.
