I absolutely adore this team up! I wonder if we'll see Shuri in the Champions? Probably not, I know, but I would absolutely adore it if that happened!

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? Yes

I liked this better than the last one. The story was more cohesive and Shuri much less suddenly standoffish. Art still ain't it for me. And this side quest for two issues is still overall pointless. Back to Nnedi and a new artist next issue thankfully

This is the second issue that features Shuri meeting Miles Morales and Ms. Marvel. These two issues (6 and 7) are the weakest of the series. In part, this could be because there is a different writer, but it also feels like a very forced cross over event that is there simply for advertising purposes or Marvel Rising.

A Few Things I Liked About Shuri #7

1. Shuri #7 proves that Miles Morales is a great friend to have on your side, superhero or not. In his superhero life, he is a stellar friend. In real life, he is a stellar friend to Augustin, and I stan only two Spidermans.

2. It's always nice to see Ms. Marvel, especially when she gets to share screen time with some of my favorite current superheroes. Also, her geeking out about how cool Shuri is is such a mood.

3. Shuri is the mentor of the year to young, brilliant but troubled and misguided youths. I can see why T'Challa would put movie-verse her in charge of Wakanda's community outreach in Oakland.

4. I live for the banter between Kamala and Miles. These are best friends I cherish and support.
