the illustrations are super cool, and i love the message of the story but like, i just got bored. graphic novels aren’t for me, i only read this because i have to teach it. i know if this was written as a short story i would have been much more engaged

A story about grave robbing for science and a guilty conscious. Imagine if Victor Frankenstein felt guilty about stealing all those body parts! This is a short story so I do not have much to say, but I liked it better than Jekyll and Hyde. What helped is that this story we spend the whole story with the fellows committing these heinous acts of thievery. It was fun to read a horror story set in Scotland instead of good ole England. Not only did I get Mary Shelley's Frankenstein vibes, but McFarlene reminded me of Victor with their rationalizing it all. The story would probably feel creepier if I had read it in October in the evening. BTW This isn't the edition I read this from I just picked it to display for my reading challenge.
