They went the whole book without even saying “Let’s give them something to talk about”? Come on

Going into this I was already unsure about it when the relationship is between an employee and her boss, but I guess I just had higher hopes about how they’d deal with this compared to how it actually happened. The thing is the two of them did not get to know each other at all outside of a work setting and the power imbalance between them never really settled down.
Also Jo liking being called boss was weird 😃

I feel like the two of them were working together for just so long while all this was going on and I can’t even really think of an alternative way for this plot to have been properly handled other than just taking these characters out of the same workplace.

I did however like the commentary on workplace sexual harassment, especially the extent to which it happens in the entertainment industry
and I wish that the book could’ve delved more into that in the end because Jo’s whole passion project concerning it was kind of just left unfinished.

HOW DOES IT FEEL, TO LIVE, MY, DREAM!?

no but this book was well written with a beautiful plot. i was a little disappointed in the ending though and how it took so long for them to get together. but besides that, another sapphic romance book is a yes from me.

This is the first female female romance I’ve read and I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! This book had me gunning for the characters to get together, every time they would have a conversation with a friend or loved one I would be screaming in my head for them to get together! The only thing I would say is that I wish that it wasn’t such a slow burn, however I still loved this book!

Would've been 5 stars without the miscommunication trope!

IT WAS A VERY CUTE WLW ROMANCE WITH LOTS OF SEXUAL TENSION. I only gave it four stars, however, because I couldn't remember a single side character. I feel like they hadn't really been developed outside of serving the main characters.

Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable slow burn which felt more like a slow roast because it took... so... long... I would've enjoyed more at the end of the story but I'll take what I can get!

Disappointed

I was really liking it at the beginning, but then all the misunderstandings started happening and the lack of communication and the writing itself was making very, very frustrated.
