Generally, I try not to start a series from the middle, but the library didn't have the first book. When I read it, not having read the first book didn't seem to matter much.
The plot was good, but the writing style wasn't quite as good as Eoin Colfer's in the AF Series.

This is what I was hoping for from an Alex Rider book! This one actualy addresss the fact that Alex is a fourteen-year-old boy having to deal with assassins and crazed billionaires. And Jack, his legal guardian, actually shows up and is worried about his safety. And the action didn't feel like vignettes but actual action sequences. This one was most likely my favorite by far.
