Tea Cake wasn't for me, but he was for Janie and that's what matters. This book makes me want to go out and find my own Tea Cake-be it a person, place, thing, or at the end of the day simply myself.

i read it too fast to really get into it and really determine a star rating, but i really liked it and im glad i finally got around to reading it. I read it with a book club and that was really fun. I really liked Hurston's writing and Janie is such a wonderfully fleshed out character.
