Even more powerful hearing Gay's perspective in her voice rather than just reading the words alone.

What a fantastic book.  The author's reflections on her own body and life are personal, yet so many of the thoughts could be what any of us think.  While I'm not a huge fan of personal essays or memoirs, this one touched me.

This was an eye-opening, thought-provoking memoir that I think everyone, especially those who are not fat, should read. Roxane Gay is a master of writing.

Some memoirs just feel like info dumps about the author but this, Roxane Gay was able to weave a thread throughout that continued to tie together the whole memoir.
