This book is gorgeous and the writing is a tad annoying.

Absolutely beautiful in every way. Entrancingly told: a young girl who knew what she wanted and persevered to be one of the best ballet dancers in the world. The text is beautiful and delicate and the illustrations are a perfect match.

lovely pictures, cute nonfiction-like story, but it lacks any actual "meat". The preschooler I read it to really liked it, but wanted more info!

A beautiful little biography! The graceful illustrations made me remember the print of Anna Pavlova that hung on my wall when I was a little girl.

Swan: The Life and Dance of Anna Pavlova is written by Laurel Snyder and illustrated by Julie Morstad. Swan presents in a picture book format the biography of Anna Pavlova who was a extremely talented ballerina. The beautiful illustrations drew us in the story right away, and the life of Anna is presented from her very first experience watching a ballet by Tchaikovsky, at the Marrinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, Russia, when she was a little girl. The story showcases highlights of her life until her final moments.
