Hmmmmm, I am not sure what to say about this book other than it is not for the faint hearted. I love horror of all kinds and I have read other books by Jack Kilborn and loved them so when I came across this one on sale I had to jump on it.

Was it scary? I would say not really. Creepy more than scary. Creepy with that I better check under my bed going through your head even though you know you are being silly.

Was is gorey? HELL YES and then some. A little over the top even for me at times and good thing I didnt eat and read.

Characters you quickly come to love. I could close my eyes and put myself in their place and feel the fear they felt. There were the always present "dumb ass" moves that we all see in horror. WHY go up the road that is surrounded by woods and has no true road and lots of things telling you to turn around? Why, because that's what makes these books fun! Part of you is saying TURN AROUND DUMB ASS and the other part is saying GO, SEE WHAT'S THERE. Morbid curiosity? For me, yeah.

My next book by this author is going to be [b:Trapped|7487212|Trapped|Jack Kilborn|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nocover-60x80.jpg|9618182].

This book...
It comes with a warning so be careful when you read it. if you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, or suffer from paranoia don't read the book, it can trigger you. It made me stop a few times but I f*cking love it to bits.

If you are into your horror and nasty things then this book is for you.

For the first time since I was a child, I wanted to check under the bed. I love horror and thriller books. This book was amazing, it kept me guessing throughout. It was full of surprises. The graphic detail may turn some away, however, I feel it just added to the quality of realism.
It definitely makes you want to think twice about what type of bed and breakfast's you plan to stay in.

I was fortunate to be able to check this book out from the public library on my Kindle. I didn't know what to think of it, since I don't usually read horror. I have to say I enjoyed the book very much. It actually gave me a bad dream one night. I am glad that writers are able to get their books out there without going through the traditional publishers.

I actually don't even know. This book is clearly going for the shock factor but I still enjoyed it and have a lot of mixed feelings about it...

I have read afraid, endurance and trapped and I have to say that this is really good and I would definitely recommend it, however the other two are better in my opinion.

OK. This one redeemed the second.
More characters you'll care about with fast paced gory action.
Set at an inn in West Virginia with a family of inbred terrors that lure unsuspecting visitors to their presidential themed inn, it's very descriptive.

I definitely liked this one better than Afraid! It was significantly more creepy (not to mention more gory; it's probably the goriest book I've ever read), and the characters were more interesting, Florence and Deb especially. I really wasn’t a fan of how the narrative treated all the characters with birth defects, though. It’s not the fact that most of them were villains that bugs me - I’m not one of those "if a character with a certain trait is a bad guy, that means the author thinks everybody with that trait is bad!" people - but rather all the focus on how the defects made them soooooo terrible and monstrous and inhuman. Weren't their monstrous actions fodder enough? But honestly, that kind of thing is par for the course in books like this, and it was more something that just made me roll my eyes a little rather than something that seriously detracted from my liking of the book.
