As someone who is fascinated by Antarctica, I enjoyed this book. It's a good, short read. If you have any interest in Antarctica or the concept of exploration, you'll probably enjoy it, too.

I think it probably lost quite a lot transferring to audiobook; I think the hard copy has lots of photos which would have been really interesting to see. As it was it felt like a sparse narrative that was more a long form essay than a book. Still an amazing bit of endurance and a well drawn character study

Beautifully written and narrated. Sometimes I got a bit confused about the timeline (whether the Worsley he referenced was Henry or his father), and I still struggle to come to terms with Henry choosing this mission over many more years he could have had with his family. But I guess that’s the point, to a degree. I don’t usually pick up nonfiction, but this is my second David Grann book, and I’m anxious to read more.
