It's influences are very apparent, but it has enough personality for me to want to read the next book.

More like a 3.5. The adventure was fun, but there seemed to be some things that didn't connect for me.

Combo Harry Dresden, Indiana Jones & Yancy Lazarus

This was an amazing ride. The protagonist held the best features I love in other books. The writing was absolutely engaging and I read the whole book in one evening because I couldn't stop. I am excited to find another series to read!

Interesting characters, I'd like a little more information on the world, but hopefully that will appear in other books. All in all, a very enjoyable urban fantasy read.

These are the kind of books that I just can't put down. We all have story types that we love. This is my bread and butter. Urban Fantasies with a solve the case kind of story. I plan to put the rest on my to read list and may short work of them.
