Just didn't enjoy the writing style. There was a lot of telling us what happened, rather than showing us with description.
A fun read, if you go in expecting a simple read that feeds your nostalgia for the original, with just enough of a plot to keep you reading. The last third of the book was the best, and I will read the rest of the trilogy they are obviously setting up, because I love Dragonlance, but it wasn't the most well-written or exciting book. Some parts of it were repetitive and sloggy, and the main character is too bland of a person to be building so much story around.

I felt as if I were a kid again, devouring the original Dragonlance trilogy well into the night. This story, depending on how it goes, may end up bringing lots of changes to Krynn, and I'm so there for the ride.

I don’t know if this is a 5-star book, but I’m giving it 5 stars because it gave me the warm fuzzies. So much nostalgia and love for my Dragonlance books.

It's a quick read, but reads like poorly written fan fiction. Maybe it was meant for kids? I wasn't expecting anything as good as the OG, but this was like new Star Wars trilogy level bad... if the new trilogy was done on a SyFy channel budget.

Dragonlance was one of my first fantasy series. It was great fun to start a new adventure with Weis & Hickman's fantastic characters. I can't wait for book 2.
