It took me a long time to read but only because she went so in depth and became so vulnerable with her audience. It’s a story of resilience and strength built from pain and hardship. Recommend for sure.

This memoir is insanely vulnerable. It is dark, heavy, and so, so important. Knott is a strong and necessary literary voice and activist for indigenous women and all women who are victims of sexual violence.

This was a gripping memoir that really resonated with me. I enjoyed her storytelling and the language and writing that she used. I did wish there was a stronger linear narrative for me to follow, because at times it was hard for me to keep the timeline straight.
