This was an intriguing, fun and inspiring read. Colourful and courageous characters catch the imagination as the house and its story tangle them all together.

While not in my preferred genre, this was a competently written "women's cozy mystery"(?) The pace was quick, style was light and breezy, the romance was believable. On the other hand, the humor seemed a bit forced at times and the dialogue didn't stand out. Plot was a bit too neatly tied up at the end and the characters weren't too deeply drawn. I was pleased that the author didn't go into endless detail about the ins and outs of real estate sales and house renovations, which were the MC's fields of expertise.

I found it a bit puzzling that the MC in this book was not Gen Delacourt since the book is billed as a Gen Delacourt mystery. Gen certainly is the better option for the series MC over Madison Boone, who was featured in this story.

Started off interesting enough but then got really, really boring as we waited for something (anything!) to happen in the promised mystery. Nothing happened for the longest time then at the end we get a quick climax and wrap up, but by the time that happened I had lost interest and was just wanting to be done with the whole thing.
