Slightly vacuous, a little formulaic, but superbly nostalgic, and its as much of a treasure as Jacques' books were when I first read them in third grade.

My favourite Redwall book by far. What an enthralling and encompassing story and so many memorable characters! A story I'll think of fondly for a long time to come and happily rereard when I get the chance to! Thank you Mr. Jacques for your wonderful work.

It's always hard to read a Redwall book when there's not really a happy ending.

I love all Redwall books!  This one was special to me because of its thoughtful and rich story arc for Martin the Warrior, a central figure in Redwall’s history but a tragic one as well in some ways. This was great read and I recommend it and ALL Redwall books!
