The beginning and the end weren't terrible.
I realized as I was finishing this entry in the series that I missed the previous one, and yet I don't feel inclined to go pick it up. Ah, well.

I finished this one just in time. A Shiver of Light was released today. I can't wait to start reading it. This book was good but not nearly as good as the ones before it. I hope A Shiver of Light is even better than Divine Misdemeanors.

I KNOW NOW. Yay.
I can now put this book to rest.
You know. It's kind of my fault. I mean, I picked this book even KNOWING that it was similar to the Anita series, and when looking at the covers its kind of obvious what type of book it is.
And honestly its not really the sex that bothered me. I can deal with sex. It's Merry. At least when Anita says shes cruel, shes cruel . Anita is a badass, shes evil, a psychopath. Merry is Unseelie for goodness sakes. She should be just as bad. Instead she paints the walls of the Unseelie mound white? wtf.
If Merry had been as her character description says she should be, then fine. Sex would have been dealt with. But that paired with this. uh huh. Not for me.
I am not sure if I will read the next book. Maybe only to find out what happens with the baby and all.
I don't know.

Ugh. I hate writing bad reviews, but I really need a good book on the heels of this disappointment. I got it free, though, so I guess I got my money's worth. Glacial storyline interspersed with meaningless sex scenes that quickly became boring.

Disappointed they didn't follow the Fear Dearg story line further. Seems like a loose end. Maybe in the next book?
Also didn't like how they played Barinthus.
Other than that, good and interesting.

I will probably read these series until they 'end' - but man, one should never read more than 2 LKH novels in a month. (The repeated use of phrases like, "so tight, but so wet!" in every sex scene induces little more than eye-rolling after a while.)

Ok. Corrected I stand. Much less repetitive sex in this and the two before it. Still needs a good editor, and I may never read if Anita again, but I will give Auntie Laurell much credit for pulling this series out of the dreck. Glad I gave it another shot.
