DNF @ 4% - cleaning out my kindle

the "bought 2016" shelf continues to produce stinkers :/ this one irked me right from the start. basically, it's the story of a traveling nurse who arrives at a home for elderly people with alzheimer's and dementia. she immediately gets in the wrong side of the staff by, get this, being the ✨ best nurse ever ✨

am i, perhaps, being a bit cranky about the good old "mary sue" trope that plagued us all in the mid-2000s? maybe. but i just can't sit here for a hundred odd pages to find out.

It was good but could have been better. I liked the idea of a traveling nurse, especially one working in a dementia unit.

I was disappointed in the characters, especially Mercy. She seemed ok at first, but her excessive whining got on my nerves. This is the first book in the series so the cast is new but none of the characters had any depth to them and felt like ‘throwaway’ characters.
The pacing if the book was odd, with unclear amounts of time happening between scenes and no real revelations happening until the very end. Even then, it was a bit confusing.

Easy afternoon

Needs some editing, but a fun afternoon read. Enjoyable once you get past the duplicate paragraphs and excess commas. A solid 3. Lean back and enjoy.
