First book of pain essays I've read. The essays were pretty evenly divided between hit and miss.

Really lyrical, and self-actualized. Some essays I enjoyed more than others. A more personal/less journalistic take on chronic pain compared to The Invisible Kingdom.

so so good. it’s a really great insight into chronic pain life, and i loved all the relationship with pain poems, all the metaphors. the essay about using a cane put into words so much of my own experience with using one. it was a great read.

I'm exploring the language of pain and really enjoyed this. It's tough to read but essential to hear from others who can put a finger on / words to this slippery topic/experience.
