After a time skip of 6 years, we get to know that the War of Scars is getting serious.

I like that the series' plot finally seems to be progressing heavily now. Before there were a lot of what if's and could and would be's. Not anymore now :D

I don't know why I decided to drop this marvelous series all those years ago, but now I finally feel ready to tackle it all the way to the end :D

so I absolutely love this book and I loved how it was different to the others in the sense that it was told 6 years on and we get to find out what Darren's been doing in that time all of his training how he decided to do the games even though he didn't have to and everything about the Vampaneze and how he and Mr Crepsley and the little person needed to go on a secret Mission this was my favourite bit in the book That's funny. You were singing about how much you … loved it earlier. 'Ale, ale, I drink like a whale, I am the … Prince, the Prince of ale'."

FINALLY, things in this book no longer were no longer easy to guess. I enjoy where Darren is going in this book and actually glad he is accepting who he is as a half-vampire. That is not saying I hate that he liked who he was as a human, but it is nice to see he is somewhat fitting into the "culture" of his night creature self.

(4.5) this was a hard book to rate. There was a time it seemed like a four star and times it was a five star, but overall I rated it a 4.5. One thing I liked about this instillation of the series is the time jump between this one and the last and the growth that Darren has had since we first met him in the first novel. I like that we get to see him maturing into a full-blooded vampire.
