I enjoyed the interesting and incredibly detailed view of Julie Andrews' early years prior to her fame. With her pristine image, I never would have guessed at the kind of upbringing she had and the challenges she faced. She was very open with sharing her feelings, thoughts and fears, which made her relatable despite her immense fame. However, the book ended very abruptly with no real "conclusion" and left me wanting more.

I have always loved Julie Andrews. She never seemed real, maybe because her voice is like a dream. It is fascinating to hear of her childhood and stage career. She definitely walked among giants, even before the world realized she was one herself. A perfectly delightful read.

Ever since Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music, I have been a Julie Andrews fan. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her early years and it helped me to understand why she might've tarnished her "practically perfect in every way" image. Perhaps she'll explain it in a memoir of her later years. I hope so because the writing was warm and engaging.

I feel like I can’t really rate a memoir, because it’s really just her story. Did enjoy though, some parts were more interesting than others.
