A good place to start for a fan of comics who understands the dynamics of FF and don't want to start in 1962. Hickman and Chen deliver on being science fiction, yet fantastic and trippy.

Not a huge Fantastic Four fan but I really liked this. Reed looking into all these alternate realities to find a solution to world problems was great, especially when the other members of the team were different personalities.

Moreso a 3.5/5 than an outright 3 but yeah.

This is the first Hickman written thing I've read and...it's strange. I'm very very interested in the future of Hickman's writing at Marvel so I won't let the unevenness of this detract me. I love the FF so anytime they get to do cheesy fun adventuring is great! Problem is, the other half of this story is a very serious philosophical look inside the mind of Reed Richards. Very clashing storylines.

I never get particularly into the Fantastic Four- for whatever reason, they just done suck me in. Although I thought the Franklin & Valeria story in this one was a lot of fun.

Mostly, I was reading this one to see the various alternate realities of Civil War/Dark Reign that Reed explored. Of course, my favorite was the one where Civil War didn't happen because Iron Man was a woman, and she and Captain America got married.

I normally don't review comics or add them to my list of books I've read, but the sense of humor in this one was so good I /had/ to mention it.

A fun collection from one of the most imaginative minds in comics today, though the best moments come from Dark Reign: Cabal one shot at the end and not the five part Fantastic Four story.

I'd heard a lot of great things about this book. Deservedly so. This is really, really good.

Reed builds a device that allows him to see other realities, where things like the SHRA and the Skrull invasion have turned out differently. He wants to figure out how to prevent all the conflict and tragedy. While he's busy doing that, the remainder of the FF are trapped in alternate timelines and Val and Franklin are facing off Norman Osborn.

This was the kind of book that had me going, "Yes! Yes!" inside while reading it. Reed's project is as interesting as it is heartbreaking (as is the conclusion), and Val and Franklin are *awesome*. The interactions between the characters feel genuine and the book as a whole was both fun and intelligent entertainment.

I'm not a huge fan of the Fantastic Four (thanks, Jessica Alba), but I decided to give this run a whirl. I was pleasantly surprised. The characters were good and surprisingly interesting. I haven't read "Civil War," "Illuminati" or "Secret Invasion" so some of the background stuff was confusing but not enough to lessen my enjoyment of the story. I really enjoyed this author's writing. I'm excited to get the next volume.
