I can still smell in my mind this story. The author is gifted in being able to write alluring descriptions that are poetic and lyrical. I loved the descriptions of everything and most of the characters. I only had two cons with this book. One, it was slow is spots. Two, the ending felt rushed and incomplete. After reading the rest of the story this ending didn't feel complete.

Dear The Scent Keeper,
Wow, wow, wow. I was genuinely impressed with the complex twists and turns you took. I loved your lyrical, soft beauty and the way that the real world exposed itself to Emmaline. But you were not a gentle, coming-of-age story. The places that Emmaline's world took her were certainly not the expected. I loved her connection with Fisher and how their "otherness" brought them closer together. Altogether surprising and tender.

this book was absolutely incredible! i fell in love with a very simple girl who was desperate to figure out who she was and where she was meant to be. I am so glad i got my hands on this fantastic and moving book.

This book is hard to review because there are really great things and then also really annoying things. Parts that dragged and parts that were described beautifully.

It reminded me of Sarah Addison Allen, where there's slight magic/fantasy - I mean the idea that you can smell lies and such is fairly magical. But it's weird that the time period is taking place in the present time - shouldn't city life have really shook her? Her transition from remote island, to semi touristy cottage without internet, her woah moment of a computer and Google, seemed too unbelievable.

The plot was very interesting, the romance was okay as well. It was all very lukewarm but the author does a good job of making you wait for the ending, which is very open to the reader.
