Festival of Colors is beautiful. Full of color. It’s a nice intro to an Indian celebration not well known to me, Holi.

Such a beautiful book! The colors are so vibrant and everything about this book is beautiful. 5 stars for illustrations, but 4 because I wish there was a bit more happening. It describes the color festival, but I guess for Amaya's age, I wanted a bit more about the culture and festival, beyond the POOF and WOOSH of colors.

A bright, vibrant book about the bright, vibrant festival of Holi, which celebrates inclusiveness, new beginnings, and the triumph of good over evil.”

FIVE STARS FOR ILLUSTRATIONS!

Lushly illustrated story of a brother and sister preparing powders for Holi. An explosion of beautiful colors are on every page. Author’s note provides a bit more about Holi – and it is a good thing because otherwise kids will be left thinking it is all about the powder/colors.

Absolutely adored this book! The Festival of Colors is a simple story about the Indian festival Holi which is celebrated in the Spring.

Holi sounds so amazing and beautiful and the reason behind the festival is so special.

I think this is definitely a book I’ll have to add to my real shelf at some point!
