I don't think I'll be able to get through this book. It's just so blah. I give up.

I understand why people don't like this book. But I did. It's gritty and there's a lot of uncomfortable growth, but it is pretty heart wrenching. I sobbed during the final pages. This is nothing like her YA, but it is still worth your time.

Made me cry. But I have never enjoyed crying so much. GREAT READ!!! I hope this is her first of many books.

I loved this book. I feel like passing it onto all my girlfriends. I got completely caught up in it and I was rooting for the heroine to find happiness. It's about Emily, in her late 20s and working crazy hours as an associate in a prestigious New York law firm. She has been dating perfect Andy for two years, but when she senses that he's on the verge of proposing she gets cold feet and breaks up with him. Almost immediately she wonders if she's made a terrible mistake, especially when Andy seems to be moving on. At the same time she has to deal with crises in her family and harrassment at work - which trigger longer term issues in her life.

The prologue gives away the fact that we're in for a happy ending but the "how" stays elusive until almost the very end and there's plenty of upheaval and tears along the way along with some very funny parts. The characters are terrific and feel like they're based on real people.

My only wish is that the prologue was tied a bit more closely to the end - I was left with so many questions! A super book.

This character, Emily, is conflicted, scared, keeps everyone at arms length. Throughout the book you get to experience her self discovery, her struggle with her own decisions, with her past, etc. I read this when I was going through some mental health struggles for myself so this book was hard for me to read but also gave me some hope. I was rooting for her to find peace the same way I wanted it for myself.

I love this author’s YA novels but this book for adults was a let down. Predictable, slow, and ho-hum.

I love, love, LOVE this book! All of the characters were interesting and the situations were realistic. I got so emotionally connected to them that there were times when I was close to tears. I highly recommend this book and I will definitely look for more novels by Julie Buxbaum!

I wish I could give it two-and-a-half stars. I'm not going to bother with the summary--typical chick lit that's not exactly chick lit. Girl has breakdown at 29, breaks up with boyfriend, quits successful lawyer job, and has family issues up the wazoo (how the heck do you spell that?). Then must figure it all out. So, I didn't hate it, but it was strange for me. It was hard to get into at first, but then I was caught up in it. But then it slowed down. And revved back up. There were a few sentences and a paragraph or two that really spoke to me, that I could identify with; but overall, it was just a little more than okay--therefore, the two-and-a-half stars.
