We have Aubrey who is dealing with the fact that her father is dying of cancer. Aubrey is the rock and support system of her family. She doesn't have time for relationships. One night while out with her best friend, Kennedy, she meets Noah who happens to be a firefighter. They hit it off but she won't let it go any further. They reconnect later on and decide to just be friends. Noah wants more but Aubrey can't commit which is understandable. After wards they decided they can't just be friends and give it a shot. This relationship moved way too fast for me. I have a very hard time with insta-love stories. Some people love them but I prefer the slow build and feeling that connection. In this book I couldn't feel that connection. The storyline with her father made the book for me. Those scenes were touching and did make me emotional. There is one scene in particular that you will need tissues. My heart broke. I also enjoyed the secondary characters Kennedy and Grayson. I'm hoping the next book will be about them! Overall, the writing was good, the story had a good flow. The plot kept me interesting. This author has a lot of potential and for a debut novel this wasn't bad at all!

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a new author to me and it did not disappoint. First off sexy firefighters Noah and Grayson, Noah is the sweetest hero I have ever read about. Reading this while sunbathing by the pool was not the best choice, thank goodness for sunglasses as the main storyline is completely heartbreaking.

Favourite scene has to be at the end, Noah's last call out in the book :(

Highly recommended read.

Hearts Ablaze by Heather Lyn forms part of he Hearts on Fire series. It grabs you from the very beginning and doesn't let you go til the very end. It. makes you feel one million emotions throughout and I doubt you'll go unscathed without shedding at least a few tears.

Aubrey is a very strong and capable, independent woman, who is put to the ultimate test upon learning about her fathers illness and what this means for her family.

Noah is a handsome and loyal firefighter who just happens to be what Aubrey needs if only she can move away from the "distraction" title she has given him.

Aubrey and Noah learn so much about themselves and each other through their journey and I was swept up along for the ride. The way that Heather brings these characters to life is amazing and you really get a sense of who they are and feel for the the more I to the story you get.

I very well thought out, heart provoking story.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
