Terrific, old fashioned, Manor House Murder. The usual old tropes, but done exceedingly well, with ever such a slight edge, perhaps? I like to read Christmas murders at Christmas and this fit the bill perfectly. I did figure out who had dunnit, but that didn’t detract in the least from my enjoyment. I’ll look up more of this fella’s work.

I actually enjoyed this more on the reread. It’s classic English murder mystery a la Agatha Christie. I can’t say much without spoilers, but it’s a fun winter mystery. I love stories where a group of people are stranded due to weather and the body count starts to rise. It’s delightful.
