I was beyond excited for this book! I absolutely loved the first in the series and the send was pretty good! Unfortunately this fell a little flat. I didn’t mind April and I love Mitch, I enjoyed being back in the world of Ren Faire. It wasn’t enough! Since we only got April’s perspective and she wasn’t interested in a lot, I felt like this story dragged on and on and was quite boring. Honestly not a lot happened, it was very repetitive, especially regarding April’s insecurities/reasons why she couldn’t be with Mitch which basically stemmed from “she’s too old”. So not enough was happening, it was very predictable. I also found that April’s feelings for Mitch just turned on one day, there wasn’t enough buildup. Since April’s character was pretty reclusive and uninterested, I felt that the story strongly reflected that. Also, she was so concerned about her child but kept turning her cell phone off completely to avoid things? Doesn’t add up. It was nice to see the other characters again! In the end, I just wanted more. More seen Faire, more fake dating, more buildup, less of April’s inner monologue.

Quickly becoming a favorite series. Accidentally devoured. Sorry not sorry.

I am so happy to find out that this isn’t the last book of the series. I have loved every single one, and none have ever failed to make me smile and cry. Such a quick and fun read, and I can’t wait for book 4.
