I've now read 3/4 of this series, and this is my favorite so far! I've been waiting for the book with Mitch as the MC for a while, and I saw in the last book the beginnings of April/Mitch with the "Mama." I like that we keep getting insight into the relationships from the other books, especially Emily/Simon.

I saw through Mitch's slutty behavior immediately and knew there would be some sort of reasoning for those girls' names on his phone, although I didn't know enough about Crossfit to guess that! April's path throughout the book was great character development, and I loved how much she had to learn about herself and Willow Creek. Mitch is an icon and a legend, and I love him very much!!

Looking forward to the fourth book!

I absolutely love this book and finished it in one day now. I’m dying for the fourth book but I have to wait until December now. It was awesome to finally get Mitch his love story and April was one of my favorite characters from the other two books. I like seeing your happy ending. I like the realistic conversations they’re having. I only wish that the book was longer. Seriously you have to read this series

“What if I said something? What if I said the words, told him I didn’t want to pretend anymore? What if I made a hole in this wall around my heart and showed him the way in? He might not want it.”

🧰 MITCH’S STORY! 😍
🧰 First Person POV (April)
🧰 Fake dating
🧰 Reverse Age Gap
🧰 Home renovations (forced proximity 😏)
🧰 Single mum - daughter is about to go to college
🧰 Small town vibes
🧰 Renaissance Faire
🧰 The kilt
🧰 Well established secondary characters
🧰 MC growth; previous relationship trauma and familial expectations are worked through.

⚠️ Single parent, divorce, abandonment, car accident (many years ago, barely referenced on page), injury/injury detail.

Based on the time we spent with the characters in previous books, the conflict and progression doesn’t seem as forced. And I was always so so about Mitch, but this book made me love him! I’ve always liked April as well, but the depth of her character was really explored in this book and I saw a lot of things in her that I’ve experienced myself.

This series is always a fun one to read. This book can be read as a stand alone, however, you will get a lot more out of it if you read the first two books.  The best parts are always the witty banter and the magic of the Renaissance Faire!  It always makes me want to leave everything behind and make a living vending at Ren Faire across the country.

I knew I would love this one because Mitch has always been a favorite since book 1, Well Met. I was also surprised to find just how much I liked April. If you're into the tropes of fake-dating and friends-to-lovers you should definitely pick this one up! Can't wait to see where this series ends up taking us!
