Easy reading chick lit that shows just how stupid men can be and just how vindictive women can be!

A book where the essential plot and outcome is pretty obvious from the outset, but i still enjoyed going along for the ride.
A lighthearted read which i appreciated in between the thrillers.

I read multiple books by Jane Fallon and I think they are amazing ‘in-between’ reads. Although, I have to say: when you’ve read one of them, you read all of them. She is known for her revenge stories and she does this really well. But can I say that there is a lot of depth in the stories? Not really. After reading one of her books, I am almost desperate to read a good romance novel because it makes me hate men. James is the perfect example of this. Even though we read the stories partly through his POV, the character had not a lot of depth or substance. He is the stereotype of a cheating husband. All he does is think about himself and when he does something for someone else, it’s always with a selfish motive. Even after all the terrible things that happened to him I couldn’t feel sorry for him. Stephanie is the only one who tries to fix the problems as an adult. Okay, after she cause them herself.

There was a time when a I read a lot of book like this, but they all got a bit samey and so it’s been a while since I picked one up, a long while. And I might leave it a while longer before the next. The idea was a good one, the wife and mistress conspiring to het their own back, however I didn’t really like any of the characters. Some of the ideas were great, the dinner party made me smile, but it felt quite drawn out and the ending fell a bit flat. On the plus side it was a quick read, that didn’t require me to think to much in these weird and wonderful times, and did have it’s entertaining moments.

Meh. It's not bad for an easy chick-lit read, but it wasn't anything outstanding. One character who I think I was supposed to sympathise with, really got on my nerves which didn't help. I thought it was weak and predictable in places, and a bit cliched.

Tko će pobijediti, a tko izvući kraći kraj, otkrijte sami.
Simpatičan ljubić, za ljetne dane.

Got You Back is an easy read which didn’t overly excite me but was quite entertaining.

The synopsis sounded great – I think it's always quite fun to read about some revenge served up cold to a cheating partner – and the novel satisfied that to some extent, but it wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be. I wanted more of a ‘smack-you-in-the-face’ resolution or perhaps some kind of unexpected event or twist to make me go ‘wow!’, but it was just a little lacking. Maybe I just expected a different kind of novel. The characters were interesting enough but I just wasn’t hugely engrossed in the story - basically it was okay, but not great.

The narration, however, was quite engaging and I would still read other books by Jane Fallon in the future, as I’ve heard good things about her other novels!

An easy, lightweight read.
