Lots to love in this book!

Both of the writers are fantastic and include a lot of wild ideas--much of it tied to game mechanics many readers will recognize, but some of it just far out awesome SF type themes--stuff Monte lives and breathes.

the book does have a very nice collection of characters, a wonderfully engaging plot, and a real page turner tempo--an easy read highly recommended for the summer.

The first half was great worldbuilding, but the rest was far too much "telling" without much "showing". I found I didn't care about the characters or fate of the world by the end, and was happy to skip chapters to finish it.
