Truly genius though it fell apart a little at the end. The big plot just sort of felt a little out of nowhere or wasn't properly hinted at (the clues were there but only barely) it just felt a little disappointing after all that build up. So the writing and storytelling were really spectacular. I do wish it weren't so pornographic and gritty but that is a big part of it. I just don't want to live in that headspace. I'm glad I read it but I wish it had a more satisfying ending

Steps outside the generic comic-book veil to be a pretty much flawless parody of the genre, clever, dark, beautifully illustrated, with an extremely clever story. Loses points for sometimes drifting into shock-value territory in weird ways, but generally just a fantastic book, well worth it's Hugo award

The CITIZEN KANE of comic books. There's comic books before WATCHMEN and then there's comic books after WATCHMEN.
