Just the kind of cheese I need in my life right now- ending kind of dragged on but would make a good Netflix movie

i SWEAR i wrote a long ass review for this book bc it pissed me off and i'm fuming that it seems to have disappeared. i don't even remember all the details now but i just remember being exhausted by the heterosexuality of it all. the plot is silly, overdramatic, and basically a mishmash of hallmark romance plot beats you've seen a million times before. save yourself the time and effort and skip this one.

I really enjoyed this book, and thank you so much to the author for sending me the pre-copy!

I really connected with each character as they were set in their high school ways. Keely & Andrew's relationship really came to when you saw how close their families were and how they were shifting from friends to what they become. Keely is your typical high school student, going through the highs and lows before leaving high school to college. She wants to do one thing: lose her virginity. Dean, her dreamy coworker, was it! However, I knew quickly he was not the "one" for her.

This book was easily a quick, enjoyable read. I did feel it was very informative and real of what high schools are struggling through: friendships, sexual relationships and "popularity" struggles. I would love to see where Andrew & Keely's relationship goes from here!

8.6 enjoyable book, loved every character and i feel like all the miscommunications weren’t annoying but relatable cus i would have done the same, the reason i am rating it 8.9 is because i’m too embarrassed to rate it a 9 cus i wouldn’t re read it but i enjoyed reading the book a lot, quick and easy read

No puedo.

This was a sweet, cheesy, feel-good love story between two best friends. Although it is YA, it is about older teens – they are 18 – and therefore it is more appropriate for older readers. I really enjoyed reading about Keely and her friends, as well as watching her navigate her relationships with Dean and Andrew. It was a fun and sweet book. Here is a quote I liked from the book: “Here’s what I realized about moments: you can’t plan for them. The best ones are always the ones that take you by surprise.” Bookish First is a website where you can review books and earn points towards claiming new books.
