The Boyfriend Comeback
By: Lauren Blakely
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, J.F. Harding

A second chance romance is just what I was looking for, just when Lauren Blakely released The Boyfriend Comeback! I love her writing, the perfect blend of romance, humor and feel good fun! Football is the game, and Jason is the man! Yes, he is the quarterback, and loves to entertain. When he invites some of the rival team over for a barbecue, he is hoping that Beck comes. After one night, the feelings are already growing, but when Beck stands Jason up, and doesn't get the chance to explain before being traded, their lives go separate ways. Now several years later, they are in the same town, still on rival teams and the attraction palpable. But can they be together with their competitive careers? Second chances, romance, sports, sneaking around, falling in love, what is not to love with this book? These two are such different characters and are so perfectly matched. Jason is the social one, easy to around people and all around loving. Beck is a little more subtle. Not comfortable in the lime light, but definitely knows what he wants. Blakely kept me engaged in this fun and flirty romance. Falling in love with Jason and Beck made my weekend!

Teddy Hamilton and JF Harding are our storytellers and they are fabulous together. Hamilton uses his easy, conversational sound with Jason. He is emotions are easy to read, and his humor on point. Harding comes in as Beck, a little more reserved, but loosens up as his feelings grow. This team is fantastic and perfectly cast.

Jason and Beck are adorable. Sweet, sexy, and 100% perfect for each other, Blakely gives us a love story that will warm you to your core. Add in the ever talented Teddy and new to my listening ears, JF and ...whoa! I need a cold shower, a hug, and no excuses to start it all over again!

It was nice. I would have liked it if all the events took place over a longer period of time.

More driven by the rivals-to-lovers trope than anything else.
